If This Then That

Confession: I am not a Real Grown Up™, so I use blogs like Adulting and Unfuck Your Habitat to help me pretend to be one.

Anyway, I see a nontrivial amount of grief from UfYH followers about reminders not being relevant to their time zones. Might I suggest using If This Then That?

I have my IFTTT set up to do things like:

  1. Send me a gchat reminder right about when I wake up to make my bed.
     
  2. Send me a gchat reminder sometime during the middle of the day, saying this: “Pretty lady, have you done a 20:10 somewhere in the house yet? If yes, please upgrade your smugitude to 9. If not, would you consider doing one to upgrade your smugitude to 9?”
     
  3. Email everyone in the house a reminder on Monday nights to take the trash cans out to the curb for trash pick-up on Tuesday morning.
     
  4. Text me a warning if it’s going to snow or rain the next day.
     

IFTTT can do a ton of really cool conditionals and actions and I heartily recommend it to everyone. Seriously. Go check it out.
